Alexander Roos was an Italian-born architect and urban planner who relocated to Wales and designed many of Cardiff’s most prestigious Victorian terraces, including those in Windsor Place and Mount Stuart Square.
In 1854, he also designed Cardiff’s first public park: Sophia Gardens. Our name pays homage to his legacy, celebrating Welsh architecture, culture and the natural beauty of the gardens.
